Come join us in celebrating the two-year anniversary of the des-ignation of the Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks National Monu-ment. We will celebrate the Monument through stewardship of the resources and the day’s activities will focus on graffiti remov-al and trash cleanup at Kilbourne Hole. Kilbourne Hole is a unique geological feature, a volcanic maar, located within the Po-trillos Mountain complex of the National Monument.

Kilbourne Hole can be challenging to find since it requires navi-gation on roads that are not always well signed. For those who would like to carpool and caravan to the site, we will meet at 7:45 a.m. at Milagro Coffee. We will leave promptly at 8 a.m.
Directions to Kilbourne Hole
Take Interstate 10 xit 155 (Vado Drive).
Turn right, or head west to the stop sign at NM Highway 478. Turn left.
After approximately 0.2 miles turn right on NM Highway 189 and travel approximately 1.1 miles.
Turn left on NM Highway 28. Con-tinue south for approximately 2 miles.
Turn right on W. Afton Road and drive approximately 11.2 miles.
Turn left on Douglas Munro Road and drive approximately 6.5 miles.
Turn left at the “T” in the road-way, drive approximately 0.2 miles and cross the railroad tracks.
Turn left on Co Rd A017 and drive approximately 7.2 miles.
Turn right on Co Rd A011. Drive approximately 8.1 miles to the crater.
