Sierra Vista Trail Day

We will be working on the Sierra Vista National Recreation Trail near Webb Gap. The work will include signing, clearing vegetation and tread work.  The section of trail is north of Anthony Gap off of Highway 404. The gravel road in is rough and requires a high clearance vehicle or 4×4. There will be trucks available to get a ride in.

If you want to carpool from Las Cruces: meet at 8am at Milagro’s Coffee on University. Please RSVP and let us know if you want to carpool or follow out to the site. You can also meet us at the trailhead off of Highway 404. We should arrive there by 8:30am. The trailhead is on the north side of the highway and marked with a large Sierra Vista Trail sign. It is next to the white, gas pipeline and a white, metal gate. Take I-10 towards El Paso and exit at number 162. Head east on Highway 404 until you see the trailhead.

Please bring water, snacks, appropriate work attire and anything else you need personally. Bring tools if you have them. McCleods, picks, rakes, shovels and vegetation loppers work best. Southern New Mexico Trail Alliance will also provide tools.
