“It is an honor to be named the May 2016 Artist-In-Residence for the Organ Mountains Desert Peaks National Monument. I look forward to representing the rich legacy of the Artist-In-Residence program while promoting public awareness of the treasures within the monument.”

Emmitt Booher was born in eastern New Mexico and has resided in the Mesilla Valley with his wife since 1990. He is a full-time photographer, working in both traditional black-and-white film processes and digital imaging. His artistic goal is to use photography not only documents the world around us, but also evokes mindfulness and contemplation within the observer. Emmitt’s website is: www.zoneviii.com
