“This artwork was completed during Sept. 2019 as part of the Artist in Residence program with the Organ Mountains Desert Peaks National Monument in Las Cruces, New Mexico. These art pieces were created as an attempt for others to appreciate the beauty of the Organ Mountains Desert Peaks National Monument, and to support the efforts of the Bureau of Land Management and Friends of the Organ Mountains Desert Peaks National Monument in their efforts to preserve and protect the natural and cultural resources of the area. I hope that many future generations get to enjoy the magic and comfort found by being one with nature and connecting with their ancestral roots. These are public lands and it really is the responsibility for all of us to protect them.”
