This was a 2-day event as part of Nuestra Tierra Conservation Project! On Thursday we enjoyed talking to members from the Boys & Girls Club of Las Cruces about the prehistoric, natural, and Native American history that lives in the Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks National Monument and in particular, in the Robledo Mountains!
On Friday, we cruised down the Rio Bravo right in front of eastern slopes of the Robledos — the Desert Peaks.
Many of these youngsters experienced their first float on the river during this trip!
Nuestra Tierra Conservation Project is a collaborative effort between Friends of Organ Mountains – Desert Peaks, New Mexico Wildlife Federation, Latino Outdoors and the Boys and Girls Club of Las Cruces to engage the next generation of outdoor leaders.
Big thanks to all of our partners and the youth for a great day!
